Safer Cumbria will mark Anti-Slavery Day by donating “Starter Bags” for survivors of Modern Slavery.
The bags have been put together by our local Soroptimists and will be stored safely with our Churches Together in Cumbria group.
Starter bags contain good-quality, essential items including underwear, nightwear, t-shirts, leggings, toiletries, notepad and pen and will be delivered to reception centres, many of which are provided by local churches if survivors do not want to attend a police station.
The “Starter Bags” have been funded by our local Rotary Club and the PCC Property Fund.
